The EDRA Paturi is an ultra-light amphibious aircraft from the Brazilian manufacturer EDRA Pecas e Manutencao Ltda .

history

The Paturi is a further development of the single-seat Hydroplum amphibious aircraft designed by Claude Tisserands , a wooden construction that first flew in 1983. The Société Morbihannaise d'Aéro Navigation (SMAN) acquired the production rights for the Hydroplum II , which was first flown in 1986 and powered by a Rotax 532 engine, and built the machine under the name Pétrel . After SMAN ceased production and trading, the production rights to Billie Aero Marine and EDRA Pecas e Manutencao Ltda were sold on. EDRA began producing the Pétrel in Brazil in 1989 . The machine was revised and launched as Paturi from 1996, where it replaced the Pétrel .

construction

The Paturi consists almost entirely of composite materials, metal components and PVC molded parts. The two-seat machine is designed as a strutted double-decker with a conventional tail unit. The side support floats are located under the lower wings. A nose wheel landing gear can be retracted into the boat-shaped, single-stage hull. Behind the cockpit below the upper wing is a Rotax 912 UL four-cylinder four-stroke boxer engine with 59.6 kW or a Rotax 912 ULS four-cylinder four-stroke boxer engine with 73.5 kW, which drives a three-blade pusher propeller.
