The EEV 39-44 were freight train - tender locomotives of the First Transylvanian Railway (Első Erdélyi Vasút, EEV).

The EEV ordered these six locomotives from the Floridsdorf locomotive factory , which they built in 1872/73.

They were given the company numbers 39-44 and the names MÉNES , SOLYMOS , TÓTVÁRAD , RÉPÁS , CZERNY and SZTRIGY . On the occasion of the nationalization of the EEV in 1884 they were given the MÁV numbers 284–289, then the category designation IIIf and the numbers 3001–3006. From 1911 they were 337.001–006.
