The eGOV calculator is a computer program for cost-benefit analysis when converting classic administrative processes to digital business processes.

The program was developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO) as part of various reference projects and is available as an open source tool .

The target audience are the political decision-makers when changing official processes, who can use this tool to analyze and compare cost-benefit aspects for the authorities involved, but also for citizens and companies. The objective of the procedure should be the monetary evaluation of the advantages of e-government . This open source licensing allows the tool to be used for the independent calculation of e-government business processes, as well as the adaptation, further distribution and reproduction of the software.
