The class EGS Karlik of the Bleichert Transportanlagenfabrik of the AG "Transmasch" is the name of a two-axle accumulator locomotive that was built from 1947 to 1954.
development
These mine locomotives were built in different versions from 1947 to 1954. Nothing is known about the number of items delivered. The structural origin of this smallest mine locomotive built in the GDR is also unknown. After production was discontinued in Germany, this type of locomotive was built by Konstal in Poland from 1954 to 1968 . It was also built as the ALD-2 in the CSSR and as the AK-2 in the Soviet Union . The known technical data of the ALD-2 differ somewhat from the technical data of the Karlik. The locomotives were mainly used underground, but also in various industrial companies. In addition to being used in the GDR, the locomotive was also exported.
Constructive features
mechanics
The locomotive has an inner frame. A longitudinally installed direct current series motor drives the two wheel sets via gears. The battery box is placed on the frame. The locomotive has five speed levels. The locomotive had a manual spindle brake for braking, which acted directly on the front wheelset.
Electrics
The battery voltage was 40 V. The output of the motor is 2.8 kW with field weakening. The engine is firedamp proof. A headlight is attached to both the front and rear of the battery box.
Others
Today Konstal manufactures trams that are called Karlik .
