Ostrówko ( German Ostrowken , 1938 to 1945 Waldbude ) was a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . He belongs to the urban and rural municipality Gołdap (Goldap) in the powiat Gołdapski .
Geographical location
Ostrówko was on the southwestern edge of the Rominter Heide in the northeast of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship on the north bank of the Jezioro Ostrówek (Ostrowkener See , 1938 to 1945 Waldbuder See) .
history
Aschtraw was founded before 1539 . The village designated as a Vorwerk and provided with a forest house was called Astraw after 1540 and later Ostrowken until 1938 . The Ostrowken manor district had 29 inhabitants in 1910, but afterwards it was part of the municipality of Gehlweiden (Polish: Galwiecie). On June 3 (officially from 16 July) 1938, the place in "Forest Bude" was renamed , and was involved in 1945 in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland . Here he received the Polish form of the name "Ostrówko". It is not known how long the small town still existed, but it is likely to have sprung up in the neighboring village of Galwiecie , which also determined its ecclesiastical home both before and after 1945.

Ostrówko could be reached in a few kilometers via today's voivodship road 651 via Galwiecie (Gehlweiden) . The district town of Gołdap was seven kilometers away. Before 1945 Buttkuhnen (1938 to 1945: Bodenhausen, Polish: Butkuny) was the next train station. It was on the Goldap – Szittkehmen (it ceased operations in 1945) and Ełk – Tschernjachowsk (Lyck – Insterburg) (which was closed to passenger traffic in 1993).
