Dunajek Mały ( German Klein Duneyken , 1938–1945 Klein Duneiken ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the urban and rural municipality Gołdap (Goldap) in the Gołdap district.
Geographical location
Dunajek Mały is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship on the northeastern edge of the Borkener Forest (also: Borker Heide, Polish: Puszcza Borecka) in the southeastern tip of the powiat Gołdapski. The district town of Gołdap (Goldap) is 16 kilometers to the north.
history
The place called Klein Dunayken after 1818 was a manor village and between 1619 and 1800 an independent Köllmisches village . Then he was a place to live in the community of Groß Duneyken (from 1928 Duneyken, 1938-1945 Duneiken (Kr. Goldap), Polish Dunajek) in the district of Goldap in the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . On June 3 (officially confirmed on July 16) of the year 1938 the spelling of Klein Duneiken was set for the place name .
As a result of the war, the village came to Poland in 1945 with the southern area of East Prussia and received the Polish form of name Dunajek Mały . Today it is a small town in the Gołdap urban and rural community in the Gołdapski powiat, until 1998 of the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
Religions
Klein Duneyken (Duneiken) belonged to the Protestant parish in Grabowen (1938–1945 Arnswald, Polish Grabowo) in the parish of Goldap in the church province of East Prussia of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today the place belongs to the parish in Gołdap, a branch parish of Suwałki in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
On the Catholic side , the place was oriented towards Goldap until 1945, while since 1945 it has belonged to the newly established parish in Grabowo in the diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Catholic Church in Poland .

Dunajek Mały lies east of the side road from Grabowo (Grabowen , 1938–1945 Arnswald) to Czerwony Dwór (Rothebude) and can be reached via a land route from Dunajek (Groß Duneyken, Duneyken / Duneiken) . There is no train connection.
