Jabramowo ( German Abrahamsruh ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the urban and rural municipality Gołdap (Goldap) in the Gołdap district .
Jabramowo is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , four kilometers southeast of the city of Gołdap on state road 65 (former German Reichsstrasse 132 ), which connects the Russian-Polish state border at Gołdap with the Polish-Belarusian border crossing at Bobrowniki . Until 1993, Gołdap was the next station on the Ełk – Tschernjachowsk (Lyck – Insterburg) line , which has ceased operations for passenger traffic.
history
The place Abrahamsruh was founded in 1836 as an estate village, but was already connected to the city of Goldap a few years later and shared its history with it until 1945.
As a result of the war, southern East Prussia and with it the city of Goldap came to Poland, and the place Abrahamsruh was given the Polish name "Jabromowo". Today it is no longer a part of the city of Gołdap , but a village in the network of the independent city and rural municipality Gołdap, which belongs to the powiat Gołdapski in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .
Religions
In terms of church, Abrahamsruh was connected to Goldap until 1945: on the Protestant side with the local New Church in the Goldap parish within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union , on the Catholic side with the local parish church within the Diocese of Warmia .
Jabramowo has also been oriented towards Gołdap since 1945, both in terms of the Catholic parish in the Gołdap deanery in the diocese of Ełk and the Protestant parish there, which is a subsidiary of the Suwałki parish in the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
