Konikowo [ kɔniˈkɔvɔ ] ( German Kleeberg ) is a small place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the urban and rural municipality Gołdap (Goldap) in the Gołdap district.
Konikowo is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , three kilometers south of the district town of Gołdap on the Polish Voivodeship Road 650 , the former German Reich Road 136 . The small town and then still called Kleeberg was formed from a large farm before 1945 and was integrated into the town of Goldap in the Goldap district within the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .
Since belonging to Poland as a result of the war in 1945, the place now called Konikowo has become independent and the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish: Sołectwo) within the city and rural community of Gołdap in the powiat Gołdapski in the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .
In terms of church, Kleeberg and Konikowo is then as now oriented towards Gołdap with a view to the Protestant and Catholic churches.
