Zatyki ( German Satticken ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gołdap City and Country Commune in the Gołdap District .

Geographical location

Zatyki is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship on the eastern slope of the Seesker Höhe (Polish: Wzgórza Szeskie). The district town of Gołdap is ten kilometers to the north-west.

history

The little village originally called Sabrowski was founded before 1570. In 1874 the place came to the newly established administrative district Gurnen (Polish: Górne), which existed until 1945 and belonged to the district of Goldap in the administrative district of Gumbinnen in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

161 residents were registered in Satticken in 1910. Their number rose to 187 by 1933 and was 166 in 1939.

As a result of the war, Satticken and southern East Prussia were assigned to Poland in 1945 . Since then the village has been called "Zatyki". Today it is the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish: Sołectwo) in the network of the city and rural municipality Gołdap in the powiat Gołdapski in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Due to its pre-1945 majority Protestant population Satticken was in the parish of Gurnen Church in the church district Goldap within the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Prussian Union of churches the parish. The few Catholic church members were oriented towards the parish church in Goldap in the Diocese of Warmia .

Since 1945 the population of Zatykis has been almost exclusively Catholic and belongs to the newly established parish in Górne in the Gołdap deanery in the diocese of Ełk of the Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant church members belong to the parish in Gołdap , a branch parish of the parish in Suwałki in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

In terms of traffic, Zatyki is a little out of the way on a side road that branches off the Polish state road DK 65 (formerly German Reichsstraße 132 ) at Kozaki (Kosaken , 1938 to 1945 Rappenhöh) and via Wrotkowo (Friedrichowen , 1938 to 1945 Friedrichau) to Wilkasy (Wilkassen , 1938 to 1945 Kleineichicht) leads. There is no train connection.
