The locomotives of the Swedish steam locomotive series EHRJ 1–3 were procured in 1904/05 with the construction numbers 768 to 770 from Nydqvist och Holm in Trollhättan through Enköping-Heby-Runhällens Järnvägs AB (EHRJ).

The series consisted of three wet steam locomotives, with which all traffic was handled in the early days of the private railway .

commitment

There were a maximum of five trains in each direction per day on the Enköping – Runhällen railway . The EHRJ board quickly realized that the income was insufficient.

SWB K61-K63

On October 1, 1908, EHRJ was bought by Stockholm – Västerås – Bergslagens Järnvägar . The three locomotives then became the property of SWB and were designated as SWB K61 – K63 . In 1927/28 the locomotives were equipped with a superheater.

SJ K21

With the takeover of Stockholm – Västerås – Bergslagens Järnvägar as part of the general nationalization of the railways in Sweden on July 1, 1944, the locomotives went into state ownership. The SWB remained its own company for another year under the direction of Statens Järnvägar (SJ), until it was fully integrated on July 1, 1945 and then dissolved. The locomotives were given the series designation K21 and the numbers 1684 to 1686.

SJ KA8

In 1947, SJ renamed its locomotives. With this redesignation, the three locomotives were given the new designation KA8 . They were shut down between 1951 and 1953. The decommissioning took place in 1963, the scrapping took place in 1964 in Vislanda .
