E-Postbrief window envelope

The brand name ePost denotes the offers of Deutsche Post AG in the field of electronic and hybrid communication. With the E-Postbrief , a process verified by PostIdent, Swiss Post has built up competition with the De-Mail system.

history

Until the year 2000, ePOST referred to the hybrid letter products (electronic mailing, printing, enveloping, franking and delivery) sold by the PrintCom division of Deutsche Post , which have since been called ePOST CLASSIC . Subsequently, the name ePost referred to an e-mail service that was introduced in June 2000 and discontinued in February 2005. At the time, Deutsche Post AG primarily advertised this brand by stating that the @ ePost.de email addresses given to customers were supposed to be valid for life. The offer required confirmation by post. Additional services such as registered mail were even announced, but these were not implemented until the service was discontinued. The customers were then offered a switch with the transfer of all stored e-mails to Lycos .
