The ESPY Awards (also ESPY Awards or The ESPYS ) are prizes awarded annually by the ESPN media group for the best in the sport in the USA. In 1993 they were awarded for the first time. In an award ceremony, top athletic performances, both individually and in a team, are recognized during a calendar year.

The ESPY Awards, like other American awards, are presented by a contemporary celebrity. Until 2004, the winners were chosen by fans , sports journalists, experts, athletes , sports officials, viewers, and personalities from ESPN. Since 2005, the winners have been online after a preselection by the ESPY Select Nominating Committee (committee for selecting the ESPY nominees). In the current ESPY Awards 2019, u. a. well-known athletes such as Alex Morgan ( Best Female Athlete ), Serena Williams ( Best Female Tennis Player ), Lionel Messi ( Best International Men's Soccer Player ), Roger Federer ( Best Male Tennis Player ) and Zlatan Ibrahimović ( Best MLS Player ) with the first prize honored.
