Ea-Gamil was the last king (around 1423–1415 BC) of the Meerland Dynasty , which lasted for around 350 years from around 1783 to 1415 BC. Ruled the south of Mesopotamia . Ea-Gamil is known from later king lists, but also from a few contemporary sources, according to which he ruled for 9 years. A text from Qalʿat al-Bahrain ( Bahrain ), probably the capital of Dilmun , testifies that Dilmun was ruled by the Meerland dynasty at that time. The text is dated under Ea-Gamil. The Babylonian Chronicle ABC 20B tells us that the king fled to Elam .

Little is known of the end of the Meerland dynasty. Some texts indicate internal unrest, other texts testify to external enemies, which, however, are not mentioned by name. However, during the reign of Ea-Gamil, the Meerland dynasty was destroyed. Shortly thereafter, their domain was taken over by the Kassites in Babylon . According to Chronicle ABC 20B, the Kassite king Ulam-buriaš marched into the sea country. A second campaign is for Agum III. testified who perhaps finally conquered the empire. Ea-Gamil fled to Elam.
