Agum III.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Agum III. was a Kassite king of Babylonia . He was the son of Kaštiliaš III. and succeeded his uncle Ulam-Buriaš to the throne.

According to the chronicles of the early kings , he moved against the sea country and seized Dur-Enlil , where he destroyed the Egalgašešna, the temple of Enlil . From Qal'at al-Bahrain in Bahrain there is a cuneiform tablet which is dated to the 4th year of Agum's reign. Most researchers assume that it is Agum III. acts. A Kassite governor of Dilmun is already known from the reign of Burna-buriaš II . André-Salvini is convinced that the governor's palace burned down at the time of Ili-ippašra . The administration may have been moved to Failaka .
