Kudur-Enlil I.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kudur-Enlil was from 1254 to 1246 BC. A Kassite king of Babylon . The King List A performs a Kudur [...] (Lacuna) as the 26th ruler of the Kassite on Dynasty of Babylon. According to king list A, Kudur ruled for six years and is the son of Kadašman-Enlil II and father of Šagarakti-Šuriaš, but this may be a later invention.

Kudur is usually equated with the Kudur-Enlil known from around 180 Central Babylonian economic texts, of which it is known that his successor was Šagarakti-Šuriaš and that he ruled for at least eight years. A building inscription from Nippur and a Kudurru from Larsa also date from his reign. The relationship between him and Kadašman-Enlil II and Šagarakti-Šuriaš is unknown.
