Eagle Empire

Eagle Empire is an action computer game that was developed by the game company Alligata Software for the BBC Micro in 1983 .

description

Eagle Empire is based on the 1980 arcade game Phoenix . The game is a top-down space shooter. The player controls a spaceship horizontally at the bottom of the screen and can fire shots upwards. The opponents come from the top of the playing field and move down, also shooting. In addition, the spaceship has a protective shield.

To end a game round, you have to fend off four waves of attack with a spaceship and then try to destroy the base commander.

  • Convoi Phoenix (1st wave): The opponents (Phoenix) form a formation from which some break out and try to destroy the spaceship by collision or fire.
  • Diving Phoenix (2nd wave): The process is the same as for the first attack wave, but the opponents are faster.
  • Eagle blue (3rd wave): The opponents appear in a formation of eight eggs, from which the eagles hatch. You have to hit an eagle right in the middle to destroy it.
  • Eagle purple (4th wave): The process is the same as for the third attack wave, but the opponents are faster.
  • Emperor (enemy base): The aim is to destroy the base commander. To do this, first destroy the outer protective layer (purple) and then the inner protective layer (blue) of the base. The greater the destruction of the outer protective layer of the base, the more points you get. The distance between the base and your own spaceship is continuously decreasing. If it comes into contact with the enemy base, your own spaceship is destroyed.

After the enemy base has been destroyed, the next game round begins with slightly more aggressive opponents.
