The Eagle Pass – Piedras Negras International Bridge is an international bridge that spans the Rio Grande and connects the United States and Mexico . More precisely, the bridge connects the cities of Eagle Pass in Texas with Piedras Negras in Coahuila . The bridge is also known under the names "Eagle Pass Bridge 1" and "Puente Piedras Negras - Eagle Pass". The road becomes US Route 57 on the Eagle Pass side and becomes Carretera Federal 57 towards Piedras Negras.
The American side of the bridge is currently owned by the Port of Eagle Pass, who also manage it. The bridge was originally built in 1927 and rebuilt in 1954 after a flood that destroyed the first bridge. In 1985 the bridge was reinforced. The bridge has two lanes and is 565 meters (1,855 ft.) Long.
