Eamonn Walsh

Eamonn Walsh (born September 20, 1945 ) is an Irish politician of the Irish Labor Party and was from 1992 to 1997 a member ( Teachta Dála ) in the Dáil Éireann , the lower house of the Irish Parliament .

Walsh joined the Irish Labor Party in 1979. In 1991 he was elected to Dublin County Council , to which he was a member until its dissolution in 1994. Walsh became a member of the new South Dublin County Council . He was re-elected in the local elections in 1999, 2004 and most recently in 2007. From 1997 to 1998 he was Chairman of South Dublin County Council .

Walsh, who was an art teacher before his political career, was elected to the 27th Dáil Éireann in the 1992 election for the Irish Labor Party in the Dublin South West constituency. In the next elections in 1997 he was unable to defend his mandate .
