Earl Brassey

Earl Brassey was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award and subordinate titles

The title was created on July 5, 1911 for the liberal politician and former Governor of Victoria Thomas Brassey, 1st Baron Brassey . Along with the earl dignity, he was awarded the minor title of Viscount Hythe , of Hythe in the County of Kent . As early as August 16, 1886, he was given the title of Baron Brassey , of Bulkeley in the County of Chester , which was henceforth also subordinate .

All three titles expired on the childless death of his son, the 2nd Earl, on November 12, 1919.
