André Tassin (born February 23, 1902 in Arras , Pas-de-Calais department , † July 12, 1986 in Reims ) was a French football goalkeeper .

Career

Tassin played for the Racing Club de France from 1929 . A year later he was with Racing in the French Cup final against FC Sète . Tassin was injured and striker Henri Ozenne had to hit the posts from the 73rd minute of the game. After Racing took the lead shortly before the end, Sète scored the equalizer and two more goals in extra time.

In 1934 he left the capital city club and moved to AC Amiens , from where he moved to Stade Reims after just one season . There he ended his active career in 1936.

National team

At the 1930 World Cup in Uruguay , Tassin was appointed second goalkeeper behind Alex Thépot in the French squad without having played an international match. In the first group game against Mexico , Thépot was injured and could not continue playing. Since substitutions were not allowed at the time, field player Augustin Chantrel had to guard the French goal from the 26th minute. In the following two games against Argentina and Chile , Thépot was back between the posts.

In 1932 André Tassin appeared in five games for the "Équipe Tricolore".
