Earl Lloyd-George of Dwyfor
Earl Lloyd-George of Dwyfor is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom , which is led by the head of the Lloyd George family. Unlike the family name, the title is written with a hyphen.
The family's ancestral home is in Ffynone , near Newcastle Emlyn in Carmarthenshire .
Award
The title was created in 1945 for the last Liberal Prime Minister David Lloyd George . He had been Prime Minister for six years, especially in the second half of World War I , and a member of the House of Commons for more than 50 years . He died just a few months after being granted the dignity.
Subordinate title
Simultaneously with the earliest title, Lloyd George received the title of Viscount Gwynedd , of Dwyfor in the County of Caernarvon , who also belongs to the Peerage of the United Kingdom. This subordinate title is used as a courtesy title by the respective title heir .
