Earl of Ashburnham
Earl of Ashburnham , in the County of Sussex , was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Great Britain .
Award
The title was created on May 14, 1730 for John Ashburnham, 3rd Baron Ashburnham , along with the subordinate title Viscount St. Asaph , of St. Asaph in the Principality of Wales .
As early as 1710 he had inherited the subordinate title Baron Ashburnham , of Ashburnham in the County of Sussex from his older brother, which had been awarded to his father on May 30, 1689 in the Peerage of England .
With the childless death of his great-great-grandson, the 6th Earl, on May 12, 1924, all three titles expired.
