The Eas a 'Chual Aluinn (also Eas Coul Aulin , originally Eas a' Chùil Àlainn in Gaelic , which means "waterfall of beautiful curls") in the Scottish Highlands is the highest waterfall in the United Kingdom with a drop of over 200 meters . It is located in the Assynt region in the Northwest Highlands , about 10 kilometers southeast of the small town of Kylesku . The tributary is several small streams from the moorland northeast of the 761 meter high Glas Bheinn , at the foot of the fall its drain flows directly into the Amhainn at Loch Bhig , which flows through the fjord-like valley and which is about two kilometers northwest in Loch Glencoul , a sea hole at the Northwest coast, flowing.
The fall is only accessible via longer hikes, the shortest route is around five kilometers from a small car park on the A894 between Loch Assynt and Kylesku to the southeast to a point above the falls. From Kylesku, boat trips are offered on Loch Glencoul, which offers a view of the Eas a 'Chual Aluinn from about two kilometers away.
