The East Egerton is a distinctive and 2815 m high mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Churchill Mountains it rises 3 km east of Mount Egerton .
Participants of a campaign carried out from 1960 to 1961 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named it after the name of Mount Egerton and because of its relative position to this mountain. Its namesake is the naval officer George Le Clerc Egerton (1852-1940), a participant in the British Arctic Expedition (1875-1876) under George Nares .
