Ebelzan

Ebelzan ( Tabassaran Эбельцан ) is the name of a spring festival that is celebrated in parts of Dagestan and is very similar to the Nouruz festival.

Ebelzan is especially celebrated in the Tabassaran district and in the Khivsky district of the Russian republic of Dagestan. Traditional dishes, including halwa, are prepared. Even in the run-up to the festival, the men carry boiled eggs with them, and when you meet you see who is stronger. The winner gets to keep the egg.
