Vocal Sampling is a six -member a cappella ensemble from Cuba . It is known for its a cappella implementations of Latin American music, mainly salsa , rumba and son cubano , in which the musicians imitate all the instruments typical for these musical genres - including percussion , brass instruments and double bass - with their voices.

history

The six band members got to know each other while studying at the National Music Academy in Havana . In 1995 Vocal Sampling released their first album "Una Forma Mas" . In 1996 they played at the Montreux Jazz Festival on the occasion of the 50th stage anniversary of the musician Quincy Jones . Since then they have appeared regularly at international festivals. At the Heimatklänge -Festival in Berlin they recorded their third album and first live album in 2000. In 2005 they performed at the International Festival for Vocal Music in Leipzig .

Her fourth album "Cambio de Tiempo" was nominated for three Grammy Awards in 2002.

Vocal Sampling is under contract with the Cuban label EGREM .
