The Echizen Matsushima Aquarium ( Japanese 越 前 松 島 水族館 , Echizen Matsushima Suizokukan ) is a dolphinarium and aquarium right on the coast of the Sea of ​​Japan in Sakai in Fukui Prefecture in Japan .

The amusement park opened in 1959 with a large aquarium and a variety of fish, jellyfish, turtles, frogs, penguins, seals, etc. is complemented by a dolphinarium in the open-air area. A so-called petting zoo with sharks, rays and octopuses is set up in several aquariums under the roof, where visitors can touch the animals and the children can play with fish in the water basin. There is also a dolphin show several times a day. In the complex there is a breeding station where endangered aquatic species such as seals and sea turtles are raised and then released into the sea.
