EcoDrive system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

EcoDrive systems , also known as "green telematics", belong to the group of telematics systems . The main difference to pure telematics systems and the special feature of the EcoDrive systems are the driving behavior support and the fuel savings that can be achieved. The use of EcoDrive systems is particularly worthwhile for fleet companies because of the enormous fuel consumption and the large number of vehicles. Companies from the areas of public transport , bus travel, waste disposal and goods transport use EcoDrive systems to reduce fuel costs. Overall, fuel consumption can be reduced by up to 12%. In addition, this telematics solution can reduce harmful emissions , especially carbon dioxide .

With procedures such as continuous feedback in the event of freely defined “misconduct”, the driver is constantly reminded of an economical and at the same time ecological driving style . According to the BKrQG of August 14, 2006, training in economic driving style, ECO training, is mandatory for all professional drivers in Germany. The EcoDrive system builds on the knowledge acquired in this training and thus supports the sustainability of the newly acquired knowledge.
