Ed Stafford

Ed Stafford (born December 26, 1975 in Peterborough ) is a British adventurer, author and filmmaker. He is the first person to walk the entire Amazon , with a length of approx. 6400 km, from the source to the mouth.

On the largely undeveloped route, he covered around 9,500 km with detours. The expedition took him 859 days. It started on April 2, 2008 and reached the estuary on August 9, 2010.

He also took part in a survival test on British television. He survived alone, equipped only with cameras, for 60 days on a lonely island ( Olorua Island ( Lau Islands ), Fiji) in the Pacific . However, among other things, he needed medicines that had been provided beforehand. DMAX broadcast the program on German-language television. With the life-threatening attempt, he was part of the RTL ranking show The 25 ... bizarre people .
