The Eddy Point (English for vortex tip ) is small headland of King George Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 800 m west of Halfthree Point on the south side of the Fildes Peninsula .
British Discovery Investigations scientists mapped and named the headland in 1935. It serves as a landmark for safe passage through Fildes Strait .
