The Eddystone Rocks are two cliff rocks in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . They are 7 km west southwest of Start Point off the coast of Livingston Island .
The British seal hunter Robert Fildes (1793–1827) mapped and named them on his trip to the South Shetland Islands between 1820 and 1821. It is named after the Eddystone Rocks group southwest of the port city of Plymouth .
