Noah J. Frey

Noah J. Frey (born February 20, 1883 in Sterling , Whiteside County , Illinois , † November 10, 1974 in Madison , Dane County , Wisconsin ) was an American insurance manager .

Life

Family and education

Noah J. Frey came from City Sterling in the state of Illinois . He was the youngest of four children of Henry Bauchman Frey (1841-1926) and Elizabeth Frey, née Kreider (1843-1915). Noah J. Frey graduated from Carroll College Academy in Waukesha , Wisconsin, in 1906 . He was enrolled at the University of Wisconsin – Madison .

Noah J. Frey married Cynthia P. Probert (1884–1976) on June 30, 1909. The marriage had the children Margaret E. Frey (1914-2005) and Robert H. Frey (1922-1929). Noah J. Frey died in November 1974 at the age of 91 at Oakwood Lutheran Home in Madison. He found his final resting place in Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison.

Professional background

Noah J. Frey worked for the Chicago and North Western Railway (C&NW) in the state of Ohio from 1901 to 1903 . He then took up a position at the Waukesha Canning Company in Waukesha. In 1907 he took over as Assistant Actuary in the State Insurance Department in the state of Wisconsin. In 1911 he became Secretary and Manager of the Wisconsin Life Insurance Company in Madison, in 1922 he was appointed President and in 1945  Chairman of the Board (COB) .

Noah J. Frey, Republican supporter and dedicated member of the Christ Presbyterian Church , served on the boards of directors of Madison General Hospital, the Madison Public Library, and the Madison Bank and Trust Company. He also served as a trustee of Carroll College. Noah J. Frey had been a 33rd Degree Freemason since 1940 . He published articles on the subject of insurance.
