Edgar Bayley (* 1919 in Buenos Aires ; † 1990 ibid.) Was an Argentine journalist, editor and writer.

Bayley is considered the spiritus rector of the Argentine " Invencionismo ". He joined the ideas of Vicente Huidobro and carried them further. According to Bayley, "... the creation of your own reality in the poem and an energetic denial of melancholy" was very important.

Together with Raúl Gustavo Aguirre , Bayley acted between 1950 and 1960 as editor of the literary magazine "Poesía Buenos Aires" (Grupo Madi). As a journalist he wrote for various magazines and newspapers; u. a. for "Arturo" and "Invención 2".
