Edificio Café Montevideo

The Edificio Café Montevideo is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo .

The building, erected in 1926, is located in the Barrio Centro on Avenida 18 de Julio 1300 , corner of Yaguarón . A. Ruiz and P. Nadal and Galfetti were responsible as architects . Later redesign / renovation work took place on the ground floor of the building, details of which date and management are not available. In its original concept, it served as a residential apartment and commercial building. In addition to residential apartments, it now houses a shopping arcade, offices and a bank. The Edificio Café Montevideo can be assigned to the style of historical eclecticism . The eight-storey building with a small tower with a gold-colored dome, on which the blue columns on the balconies of the fifth floor stand out in appearance, borders the art film cinema Cinemateca 18 .
