Edificio Güelfi

The Edificio Güelfi , also known as Edificio Guelfi , is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo .

The building, constructed in 1936, is located in the Barrio La Aguada on Avenida Libertador Brig. Gral. Juan A. Lavalleja 1763–1777 and Valparaíso and Cuareim streets . Francisco Vázquez Echeveste was the architect responsible for the construction . The Edificio Güelfi originally housed rental apartments, shops and a bank on the ground floor. Today rental apartments have given way to residential apartments. In addition to shops and offices, there is still a bank on the ground floor . Architecturally, the building is attributed to the modern age .
