Edificio del London París
The Edificio del London París , also known as The Standard Life , is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo .
The building, built in 1905 and opened on March 8, 1908, is located in Barrio Centro at Avenida 18 de Julio 1060 , corner of Calle Río Negro 1338-1442 . It was designed by the architect John Adams , according to other information by the architect M. Tapie , and can be assigned to the style of historical eclecticism . In 1995 restoration work took place on the ground floor under the direction of the architects Conrado Pintos , Alberto Valenti and Arturo Silva Montero . Five years later, Benito Isaac was responsible for restoring the upper floors. In 2008 there was a change of ownership for the purchase price of US $ 700,000. The building, which was originally designed as an office building, currently houses a McDonald’s fast food restaurant.
