The Edinburgh Hill is a 120 m high and prominent hill of volcanic origin in eastern Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It forms the north side of the entrance to Moon Bay .
Scottish geologist David Ferguson photographed the hill during his stay in Antarctica from 1913 to 1914 and named it after the Scottish capital Edinburgh . Although scientists from the British Discovery Investigations renamed it High Point in 1935 , this name did not prevail.
