Edith Dobesberger

Edith Dobesberger (born September 9, 1925 in Attnang-Puchheim , † January 6, 2002 in Linz ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and teacher. Dobesberger was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag and from 1971 to 1986 a member of the National Council .

Dobesberger completed compulsory school in Attnang-Puchheim and then attended the teacher training institute in Linz, where she passed the secondary school teacher examination for mathematics, natural history, physics and chemistry. She then worked as a teacher in the districts of Braunau , Vöcklabruck and Linz, where she was employed as a secondary school teacher from 1948. In addition, Dobesberger was involved as a member of the Socialist Youth and worked as a councilor in Attnang-Puchheim between 1955 and 1959. She also represented the SPÖ between 1955 and 1961 in the Upper Austrian state parliament and was a member of the National Council from November 4, 1971 to December 16, 1986. Dobesberger was particularly involved in her work in the field of youth and women and also stood up for the people of the Third World, especially in the Western Sahara region .
