Edith Suchodrew

Edith Suchodrew (born September 5, 1953 in Evpatorija , USSR ) is a German visual artist .

Life

Edith Suchodrew graduated from Janis Rozental's art school at the Art Academy in Riga in 1971 , studied at the Latvian Art Academy in Riga and in 1981 received her diploma in “Graphics / Fine Art”. She became known for her portraits of the collector couple Irene and Peter Ludwig, among other things . In addition to portrait painting, her work also includes lithographs , watercolors , graphics and drawings , silk and porcelain painting , oil paintings as well as woodcuts and etchings . Since Edith Suchodrew became familiar with the computer , she has been working more and more with the means of computer graphics and animation .

Since the death of her mother, Doris Suchodrew (May 17th, 2000 in Aachen), the artist Edith Suchodrew has been reciting her poems.

Since 1974 participation in more than 440 exhibitions and also in 97 solo exhibitions worldwide. She received 36 awards and prizes.

Edith Suchodrew is a member of the International Association of Art (IAA) at UNESCO , as well as the Art Addiction Medial Art Association (AAMAA) , the Artists 'Union of the USSR and the Artists' Union of Latvia . Edith Suchodrew has lived in Aachen since 1991 .
