Editha Westmann , until 2017 Editha Lorberg (born December 10, 1963 in Seesen ) is a German politician ( CDU ). Since March 2003 she has been a member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament .

Life

Westmann completed training as a beautician. From 1983 to 2001 she worked as a freelance beautician and trainer for a device manufacturer. She then worked as a customer advisor at Kreissparkasse Hannover until she joined the state parliament .

Westmann has been a member of the CDU since 1993 and is also a member of the CDA . From 2001 to 2008 she was a member of the Mellendorf-Gailhof local council. Since 2004 she has been a councilor for the municipality of Wedemark, where she has been the deputy mayor since 2006.

Editha Westmann has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2003. After she had won the constituency Garbsen / Wedemark directly in the previous elections, she lost to the SPD candidate Rüdiger Kauroff in the 2017 state election there . However, she moved back into the state parliament via the state list and was elected spokeswoman for the CDU parliamentary group in the petitions committee.

Editha Westmann is Protestant and has three children. She has been married to Alexander Westmann since 2015.
