Edouard Carl Friedrich Otto
Edouard Carl Friedrich Otto, later Edward Carl Fredrich Otto (* 1841 in Berlin , † 1905 in London ), was a German-English inventor. Otto has been registered in London since 1871, in 1878 he and J. Willis received a patent on the Kangaroo (bicycle) and in 1879 on the famous Otto Dicycle . In 1886 the toolmaker and civil engineer became a British citizen. According to Tony Hadland and Hans-Erhard Lessing , Otto is said to have been a brother of Nikolaus Otto ; the story seems fictitious, since Nikolaus Otto was the youngest son of the family.
