Edson Alvarado (born September 27, 1975 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of a striker . He started his career at his hometown club Necaxa , with which he was twice Mexican champion.

Life

Alvarado made his debut in the Mexican Primera División on August 9, 1994 in a home game of the Necaxistas against Deportivo Toluca , which was won 1-0. He scored his first goals in the Mexican professional league in a home game played on October 21, 1995 against Club Atlas de Guadalajara . Immediately after the break, in which his team was 1-0 down and therefore had to intensify their offensive efforts, Alvarado was substituted on for defender Efraín Herrera . Just 15 minutes later, he managed to equalize, which he followed up with the 2-1 lead in the 68th minute seven minutes later. In the end, both teams separated 3: 3 and shared the points.

Alvarado won with Necaxa the two consecutive championship titles of the seasons 1994/95 and 1995/96. He also won the Mexican Cup competition in the 1994/95 season and the Supercup without a fight thanks to the double .
