Eduard Belser

Eduard Belser (born August 1, 1942 in Basel ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).
Life
He completed the teachers' seminar in Schiers and then a secondary school teacher degree (history, geography and English) at the University of Basel . He then held various positions as primary, secondary and secondary teacher in the canton of Baselland .
From 1971 to 1975 Belser was a local councilor in Lausen , from 1975 to 1979 district administrator . From 1979 to 1987 he was a member of the Council of States and from 1987 to 1999 a member of the government in the canton of Baselland. From 1986 to 2002 he was a member of the Bank Council of the Swiss National Bank , from 1999 as President.
