Eduard Engelmann (artist)

Eduard W. Engelmann (* 1825 ; † 1853 ) was a German visual artist who was known for his slate pictures in German children's and youth literature .

Life

Engelmann worked as a wood cutter who u. a. worked for Ludwig Richter . In 1851 the Leipzig publisher Romberg gave him the opportunity to create a children's book from lithographed slate pictures.
