Eduardo Espinosa y Prieto

Eduardo Espinosa y Prieto ( 1910 - 23 August 1966 ) was a Mexican ambassador .

Life

On September 23, 1937, Eduardo Espinosa y Prieto was accredited third class secretary at the Embassy in Havana . At the time, only the US, Spanish and Mexican governments had diplomatic relations with the government in Cuba.

The General Assembly of the United Nations recommended with resolution 944 on December 15, 1955 that the government of the United Kingdom, in consultation with the Plebiscite Commissioner, hold a plebiscite to determine whether the people of British Togoland would like to become independent or wanted to form the state of Ghana with the then Gold Coast . Eduardo Espinosa y Prieto was appointed plebiscite commissioner for the vote on May 9, 1956.

From August 15, 1965, Eduardo Espinosa y Prieto was accredited by the governments of Egypt , Algeria and Saudi Arabia . His embassy was in Cairo , and he died of heart disease after being admitted to the Dar el-Shifa hospital.
