Eduardo Eurnekian

Eduardo Eurnekian (born December 4, 1932 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine entrepreneur of Armenian origin.

His family owned a textile company, which u. A. Puma supplied, which, however , got into crisis after José Alfredo Martínez de Hoz 's deregulation in 1981. In 1988 Eurnekian took over cable television operator Cablevisión SA in 1994 and in 1997 he sold 51% and 49% of the company respectively for a total of 670 million US dollars .

In 1998, a consortium led by Eurnekian won the concession to operate the 33 most important airports in Argentina for 30 years . On December 17, 2001, he also signed an agreement with the Armenian government to obtain the concession for Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport for 50 years . He participated in the financing of the new construction of the Cathedral of Saint Gregory the Illuminator in Yerevan , which was completed in 2001.

Today, Eunekians Corporación América includes a total of 53 airports, the motorway operators Helport, Autovía del Mar and Caminos del Paraná, a mineral oil company, a biodiesel plant and several agricultural projects. His company is also planning the Aconcagua base tunnel as part of the Bioceánico Aconcagua project.
