Edward Warner Medal

The Edward Warner Medal has been awarded by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) since 1959 for special achievements in civil aviation. This award is named after Edward Pearson Warner , who was the first chairman of the ICAO from 1954 to 1957. The first posthumous prize winner was Albert Plesman from the Netherlands .

The medal is the highest honor bestowed in international aviation. On March 14, 2003 it was decided that the Edward Warner Medal will only be awarded every three years.
