Edward Bede Slater

Bede Slater OSB (* 1774 in Liverpool as Edward Slater; † July 15, 1832 ) was a British religious and apostolic vicar .

Life

Edward Slater entered the Benedictine order in 1794 , took the name Bede and was ordained a priest in 1798 .

On June 18, 1818 Edward Slater was appointed titular bishop of Ruspae . He received his episcopal ordination on June 28, 1818 Cardinal Lorenzo Litta with the assistance of Bishop Rudolfo Brignole Sale and Ignazio Ranaldi , Bishop of Ripatransone . On March 2, 1819 he was appointed Vicar Apostolic of the Cape of Good Hope and on August 9, 1831 he resigned.
