Edward Meeks

Edward Meeks (born September 27, 1934 in Jonesboro , Arkansas ) is an American actor .

Life

Meeks has worked in over 40 cinema and television productions, including a. in the films Delay in Marienborn (1963), The Clan of Sicilians ( Le Clan des Siciliens , 1969) and Commissioner Maigret sees red! ( Maigret voit rouge , 1963) (in the latter alongside Jean Gabin ). He is known to German-speaking audiences through the French television series Die Globetrotter ( Les Globe-Trotters ), but above all through the role of the writer Humphrey van Weyden in the film adaptation of the novel Der Seewolf by Jack London .

Meeks was the last film partner of Princess Gracia Patricia in the 27-minute television film Rearranged (1982), which was not completed because of her death. He was married to the French writer and actress Jacqueline Monsigny (1931–2017) until her death .
