Sir Edward Stradling, 3rd Baronet (* around 1624, † before April 17, 1646) was an English nobleman and military man.

Edward came from the Stradling family , an old family of gentry from Glamorgan . He was the eldest son of Sir Edward Stradling, 2nd Baronet and his wife Mary Mansel . During the English Civil War , like his father and other members of the family, he fought on the king's side and, like his father, raised a regiment for the royal army. In 1643 he was beaten to a Knight Bachelor degree at Oxford . In 1644 he took part in the Second Battle of Newbury . After his father's death in 1644, he inherited the title of Baronet , of St Donat’s in the County of Glamorgan , and the family estates in South Wales and South West England.

He married Catherine Perry , daughter of Hugh Perry from London , around 1642 . He had at least three children with her:

  • Sir Edward Stradling, 4th Baronet (around 1643–1685)
  • Catherine Stradling ⚭ Sir William Waller
  • Jane Stradling, ⚭ George Bowen from Kettlehill, Glamorgan

The year of his death is unknown. According to various sources, he died before 1661, but on April 26, 1646, his widow Catherine Perry married Bussy Mansel from Briton Ferry . His heir became his young son Edward. Apparently there was considerable damage to his property during the civil war, which still burdened his grandson.
